Terms of Service

YouTube Learning Pathways curates educational content from public sources via the YouTube Data API. Students engage with this content under the following understandings and assumptions of risk:

No Professional Advice: Learning Roadmaps and Learning Pathways related to medical, legal, or financial subjects are provided for educational purposes only. They do not constitute professional advice. Always consult a qualified professional before making decisions regarding your health, legal standing, or financial assets.

Content Curation: While YouTube videos must adhere to Community Guidelines, YouTube Learning Pathways does not host or verify the absolute accuracy of curated YouTube content. YouTube Learning Pathways is a facilitator of exploration; students view third-party content at their own risk.

AI Limitations: Curricula generated by the AI faculty (Gemini API) may contain structural irregularities. Students are encouraged to use sketches as flexible guides rather than absolute pedagogical truth.

01. Our Academic Commitment

YouTube Learning Pathways is designed as a sanctuary for self-directed study. Our data practices are governed by the principle of "Minimal Academic Footprint"—collecting only what is essential to architect your custom curriculum and maintain your institutional credit balance.

02. The Credit Economy & Transparency

To maintain an AI-driven infrastructure, we utilize a credit-based system to limit user creation of new courses (i.e. Learning Roadmaps and Learning Pathways). A transparent ledger of your institutional interactions is saved on our servers, including:

  • Transaction Logs: We record the timestamp, amount (in credits), and description of every credit deduction to provide you with a transparent audit trail.
  • Atomic Integrity: Your credits are only deducted upon the successful handoff to our architectural workers. Failed operations result in an automatic transaction rollback.

03. Curricular Lifecycle & Management

Your diagnostic inputs (i.e. the questions you answer to ensure your Learning Roadmap matches your learning goals) are processed to interface with the Gemini and YouTube Data APIs. However, no other user data is communicated to external 3rd party services.

We practice automated lifecycle management to keep the campus efficient:

  • Architectural Purging: Temporary Roadmap Sketches are automatically purged from our database once they are promoted to a final Learning Roadmap.
  • Unique Identifiers: Every roadmap is assigned a unique cryptographic suffix (UUID) to prevent URL conflicts and ensure your specific pathway remains accessible only via its unique link.


Course Reuse: Learning Roadmaps and Learning Pathways are not associated with a particular user. Other users are able to enroll in a course you have designed.

04. Progress Tracking & Persistence

Data related to your Learning Journey—including assessment scores and unit completion status—is securely stored on our institutional backend servers. This ensures your learning progress remains persistent and accessible across any device you use to access the campus. This data is used exclusively to track progress and unlock subsequent units.

05. Institutional Communication

Your email address is used exclusively for site-related contact, such as account management, security alerts, and curricular updates.

Privacy Guarantee: Email address information will not be provided to 3rd-party services, nor will it be used for external marketing purposes.

06. Cryptographic Security & Data Protection

We utilize multi-layered encryption to ensure that your identity and academic records remain a private sanctuary:

  • Network Encryption (SSL): All traffic between your device and our campus is encrypted via SSL technology to prevent unauthorized interception.
  • Encrypted Credential Storage: We utilize cryptographic hashing algorithms to store passwords; your plain-text password is never saved.
  • Administrative Privacy: Due to these hashing protocols, site administrators cannot see or retrieve your plain-text password.
